The proposal

I have been finding it hard to work out where to start. If I start from my childhood we will never get to the present time. So I'll start at the proposal.

The night that Heath proposed was just an ordinary Sunday night on the couch, watching movies. It was August 15th , 2011, (I don't think that I would remember the date, its only that it was my girlfriend Lauren's birthday and all my girlfriends were celebrating in Bali. I was so upset that I wasn't there, but in the end I obviously wasn't meant to go :)) and Heath and I had been together for roughly 8 and a half years.

It was no secret that I had wanted to marry Heath. Every cat and its mother knew I wanted to be this mans wife, and honestly I was getting very impatient. Haha.
As I was saying we were sitting on the couch having a Doona Party, (A Doona Party is something that Heath and I used to do before Fynn came along. We would sit in our underwear and drag all the doonas in the house into the Lounge room and watch movies.) we had hired the movies Valentines Day and the Bounty Hunter. The movies were finished and I was sooooo tired. Heath called me over to him and I layed on his lap while he cradled me in his arms. I was so close to falling asleep when Heath looked down at me and said "matey, will you marry me?" I couldn't believe it. I burst into tears and couldn't say anything but yes from my tear soaked lips.

The sweetest thing that I remember is how much Heath was trembling. I later found out that he had purchased a ring for me in February of that year and asked my dad's permission in the April! It was a simple white gold wedding band. It was perfect. My absolute favourite piece of jewelery that I possess, by far. We later had an engagement ring made at Heaths request, but honestly as beautiful as my engagement ring is, that little ring was all I needed.

It was 9pm and we both kind of stood there looking at each other thinking what do we do now. Amazingly my mum and dad were having dinner at Heaths parents house. We called and had my mum put us on loud speaker and announced our engagement to all 4 parents at the same time. Perfection!

We started calling the rest of our friends and family. I got through to as many people as possible except the 5 girls in Bali. I called them at least 10 times......... Finally Kellie called me back. She had found out from her boyfriend Chicken and immediately called me back. She is so gorgeous, she waited until she was with all of the other girls and to hear them all scream together was sooo exciting. My girlfriend Kylie was also hilarious. Her daughter Scarlett was 7 months old and had just gone to sleep and when I rang to tell her she did the cutest little silent scream. haha. Its funny the things you remember when you think back.

So after a long night we went home jumped into bed and I hardly slept a wink. I had wedding on the brain. It was lucky that I started mentally planning straight away because we had decided that we wanted to get married in February. That's right, I had 6 months to plan my wedding!

Arghhhhhhhh.

Introduction

Ok, so where do I start. I suppose ill begin with where I am at right now and work my way backwards until I arrive back at the present day. Does that make sense?? haha.

Well...... My name is Ashlee Frances Woodhouse. I'm 27 years old. I have been married to my gorgeous husband Heath for roughly 14 months and am a new mum to a beautiful baby boy named Fynn who is almost 4 months old.

I decided to name my blog after my son because I wanted to tell the story of life before Fynn and life after. And before anyone picks up on it I have spelled tail this way for a reason. A kind of play on words!!! You know a fin is a tail... Anyway moving on....

I married Heath on February 25th 2011 after 9 years together. We were 17 when we fell in love and have been in love ever since. I honestly cant imagine life without him. He is a beautiful human being. We went to primary school together and were "boyfriend and girlfriend" when we were in grade 2 (so cute) I remember he brought me a ring from one of those 20c bubble gum machines. Haha. We ended up going to different high schools but met up again through mutual friends.

Heath on our wedding day xoxo

Two months after we were married we found out we were pregnant and we were over the moon. It almost sounds to perfect doesn't it? Wedding, Honeymoon and Baby all within 12 months. Or so it seems..... Ill venture back to this at a later date.

And so our little bundle of joy was born on January 2nd, 2012 weighing 7 pound 11 and 52cm long. He is our pride and joy and has brought more happiness to our life than you could possibly imagine.

xx Fynn xx

Heath, Fynn and I have the most amazing friends and family, we are truly blessed. I cant believe how lucky I am to lead the life I'm leading. I never imagined being this happy.

I hope everyone who reads this can take something from it. I'm not saying that life is "perfect" we have our highs and lows, but I figure if I can see the positive in everything then hopefully life will never get me down.
